The Life of Kunta Kinteh – Roots & James Island
Juffereh is the home village of Kunta Kinteh, the main character in Alex Haley’s bestseller Roots. You will visit Juffereh and the neighboring villages of Albreda. But also James Island, in the middle of the river Gambia. On this island are the remains of Fort James built in the year 1650. This place is a sad reminder of the Trans Atlantic slave trade. An impressive experience and a classic tour.

Banjul City Trip
Banjul is the Capital city of The Gambia, with a lot of things to discover: the War Memorial and fountain, the National Museum, the Museum of Archeology, ethnography and the colonial period, the Albert Market (a bustling market area where crafts are sold) and Arch 22 (an arched gateway to the city and 35 meters high by far the tallest building in the country). From here there is a beautiful view over the city, The Gambia River and the ocean. On this tour you will also visit the Batik Factory at Serekunda.

Colorful Serekunda
Serekunda is the biggest and most colorful city of The Gambia. Gambians love to wear bright and flamboyant clothes. Don’t forget to visit the big market, wood carving and the famous Batik Factory. Here you can buy beautiful authentic handmade products. Do not go without a guide, you get lost in the numerous streets and crowds of people. But certainly do this trip!

Bush and Beach Safari
First the exciting bush, then the relaxing beach. You will visit Crocodile Pool and see the famous Crocodile Charlie. Then the trip goes to The Monkey Park, Abuko Nature Reserve and the adventurous Lamin Lodge. This two-story building is completely made of mangrove wood. The next station is a canoe boattrip at the famous Mangroves, visiting the women vegetables gardens. At the end you will relax en have a swim at the lovely Sanyang Beach. Tanji Fishing Village
Visit a working fishing village. See the fish being unloaded from the boats and being sorted in size, placed on lorries for export, laid out to dry or smoked for local use. The fishing boats can return at any time of day and depends on the tides. We will know the best time to go and will advise you on the best time to arrive here. You can also visit the fishing harbours in Bakau or Banjul. A colorful experience!

The Birds Of The Gambia
The avifauna of The Gambia includes a total of 576 species, one of which has been introduced by humans and two of which are globally threatened. Watch the famous birds of The Gambia like Pink-Backed Pelikan, Hamerkop, Long-Tailed Cormorant, African Cuckoo-Hawk, Egyption Plover and the Black Bellied Bustard. South Gambia Highlights
You will make a tour through the inlands, which is a total experience in itself. Drive trough villages and the bush and the beach. Rural Gambia
You will visit the natural environment in its original condition. We will stop at an abattoir where cattle are sold in cash and battering. You will also see local nursery, local farming and different methods of irrigation. Other sightseeing’s are the typical Gambian villages and compounds. A visit can be made to local beekeepers. You can see traditional and modern hives and learn how honey is used to complement local food and how it is utilized for traditional medicinal purposes.

Fishing in The Gambia
A popular pastime in The Gambia is fishing, either deep sea fishing, creek fishing or River fishing. The Gambia has long been known by anglers as one of the world's finest fishing destinations. Target fish include (depending on fishing location): Tiger Fish, Vundu Catfish, Sharptooth Catfish, Zambezi Pike, Characins, Threadfin Salmon, Barracuda, Cassava, Captain fish, Lady fish, Pompano, Trevally, Red Snapper, Guitar fish and Stingrays. Apart from the exotic catches, fishing also provides a way to enjoy other wildlife (like birds) from a different perspective.

Senegal Discovery Tour
This adventurous trip goes all the way to Dakar, the capital city of Senegal and home tot the Senegal Presidential Palace. The city of Dakar has a population of 1,1 million people. Its located on the Cape Verde Peninsula, on the country's Atlantic coast. Its position, on the western edge of Africa (it is the westernmost city on the African mainland), is an advantageous departure point for trans-Atlantic and European trade. Georgetown, The Old Capital
The port town on Janjangbureh is called Georgetown, the old capital. The island of Janjangbureh, in Gambia, lies about 300 km up river and covers an area of about 7.7 square miles. It is still referred to by some as MacCarthy Island as used in the colonial era up to 1995. Christian missionaries arrived as early as 1824 and a government boarding school was opened in 1927 (called the Chief's School). The area is now one of the top ecotourism destinations in Gambia.
