The Gambia is located on the west coast of Africa. The Gambia is the smallest country on mainland Africa, bordered by Senegal in the north, east and south and by the Atlantic Ocean on the west. The country is shaped like a snake as it follows the course of the river 300 miles inland. The Gambia has a subtropical climate with distinct cool and hot seasons. From November to May, there is uninterrupted dry weather with a lovely wintersun. From June to October there is a rainy and hot summerseason.
